This past Sunday was our Folk Sunday service (yay!). Some of the songs we sang will be appearing on the blog during my sabbatical "Folk Music Project". Right now I am including the sermon here and will have a slightly different text version over in Burbania Posts. If you would rather read it. the sermon is short and ends abruptly, but I do talk about "why folk music" which--given the upcoming project--it makes sense to explain... This is Adam's contribution to the sermon series "Pillars of Islam". We had guests for the sermons addressing Charity, the Profession of Faith and Prayer. Adam will be addressing Hajj (pilgrimage) in a couple of weeks. The texts were part of Surah 2 (The Cow) in the Koran and Isaiah 58. |
